Gerry Dewey

Gerry Dewey is an extraordinarily gifted lyricist.  Born in Delaware, Ohio and a graduate of Ohio State University, Dewey first came to Nashville, TN in 1982 at the urging of  legendary music mogul “Wes Farrell” (Hang on Sloopy).  Ferrell who first met Dewey in Miami was very impressed with his ability to transform ordinary phrases into well crafted song lyrics and so began an association and mentorship which transformed into staff writing opportunities upon Dewey’s arrival in the Music City (as Nashville is known).  Since that time, he has written songs in all genres of music including rock, pop, contemporary and country. In 1997  Dewey met Eddie Reasoner and since the two have collaborated in nearly 60 songs together – showcasing their compositions from the Palace Theatre in Cleveland to the Universal City Walk Theatre in Orlando,The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, The Waterfront in New York City and most recently at the Norris Theatre for the Performing Arts in Palos Verdes, California. “Of all the nights that was most special for me to hear our songs performed – I’d guess I have to say it was the BlueBird Cafe in Nashville” said Dewey. Guests from BMI, ASCAP, and a host of Hollywood Moguls attended, as Eddie (Reasoner) performed to a packed house which was sponsored as part of the Nicorette NicoDerm-CQ Country Concert Series.  While continuing his association with Eddie Reasoner and NashAngeles Music, Dewey has also co-written with Mica Roberts (singer for Faith Hill, Toby Keith) and  Recording Artist Jeff Moore with whom Dewey penned four songs one of which turned top 40 for Moore’s debut pop album in association with fellow musician and actor Billy Bob Thornton entitled “I Wanna Be”.

In April 2010, Gerry Dewey announces the debut of his latest new book entitled ” All Kinds of Time” which already promises to be a best seller complete with posters and an audio book.
